OLYMPIA The Redistricting Commission will hold a special meeting,
Monday, Nov. 5 in Olympia. Commissioners will exchange draft plan revisions
and consider a follow up meeting date.

Mondays meeting represents the commissions next step in the
negotiation process that will lead to new political boundaries for Washington.
Over the next six weeks, the commissioners will work diligently to craft
a single legislative and Congressional plan. Three of the four voting
member must approve a final proposal that is due to the Legislature by
Dec.15.

The Washington State Redistricting Commission is
a bipartisan agency of five commissioners established to redraw
legislative and congressional district boundaries every 10 years.
When redistricting is completed, the commission will close its doors.
In 2011, a new commission will be appointed to ensure that Washington
residents are fairly represented in Congress and the Washington.
